শীতকালীন সখের ছাদ বাগান কে আলো করে রাখে যার অনুপস্থিতিতে পূর্ণতা পায় না সে হলো শীত বাগানের রানী পিটুনিয়া। পিটুনিয়া হল দক্ষিণ আমেরিকান একটি ফুল। এই ফুলের রঙ এবং সৌন্দর্য পাগল করে সবাইকে। পিটুনিয়ার রং এর প্রচুর ভ্যারাইটি আছে । যেমন সাদা, গোলাপি, লাল, হলদে, বেগুনি ইত্যাদি।পিটুনিয়া ফুল কখন ফোটে পিটুনিয়া সাধারণত আমাদের দেশে নভেম্বর থেকে শুরু করে প্রায় জুন মাস পযন্ত ফুল দেয়। পিটুনিয়া Solanaceae পরিবার এর অংশ ও উপপরিবার Petunioideae .

পিটুনিয়ার মাটি তৈরি
পিটুনিয়ার মাটি কিছুদিন আগে থেকে করে রাখা ভালো অক্টোবর এর প্রথমে মাটি তৈরি করলে পিটুনিয়ার জন্য সব থেকে ভালো। পিটুনিয়ার মাটি কিছুদিন আগে থেকে করে রাখা ভালো অক্টোবর এর প্রথমে মাটি তৈরি করলে পিটুনিয়ার জন্য সব থেকে ভালো। আমরা যে টব গুলোতে গাছ করবো ততগুলো টবে মাটি নিতে হবে বাগানে যে ধরণের মাটি আছে সেটা (এঁটেল মাটি ) এর সাথে নিতে হবে চুন যতগুলো টব আছে ততগুলো টবে অর্ধক চামচ করে। তারপর ভালো করে মাটি অরে চুন টাকে মিশিয়ে নিতেহবে দিয়ে হালকা জল দিয়ে রেখেদিতে হবে একমাস। একমাস পর ওই মাটির সঙ্গে মিশাতে হবে ২ ভাগ নদীর সাদা বালিমাটি (Silver sand), ২ ভাগ বার্মিকম্পোস্ট , ১ ভাগ পাতা পচা সার , কিছুটা লাল বালি , ও কিছুটা sterameal এই ভাবে পিটুনিয়ার মাটিটা তৈরি করেনিতে হবে এক মাস এর মধ্যে।

It is better to prepare the soil for Petunia a few days in advance. If the soil is prepared in the beginning of October, everything is better for Petunia. In the tubs in which we will plant the plants, we should take the soil of the type of soil in the garden (clay soil) along with half a spoonful of lime in the tubs. Then mix the soil and lime well and keep it with light water for a month. After one month, 2 parts of river white sand (silver sand), 2 parts of vermicompost, 1 part of leaf rot, some red sand, and some sterameal should be mixed with that soil.
পিটুনিয়ার টব নির্বাচন
পিটুনিয়ার জন্য একটু চৌড়া টব হলে ভালো কারণ এই গাছটি একটু চোরাই বা আপনি ঝুলন্ত পাত্র (hanging pot) এ করতে পারেন তাহলে আপনার বাগান দেখতে অনেক সুন্দর লাগবে।

পিটুনিয়া ফুলের জল ও আবহাওয়া
পিটুনিয়া কে Full sunlight এ রাখতে হবে তাহলে পিটুনিয়াতে অনেক বেশি ফুল পাওয়া যাবে। কোনো মোটেই পিটুনিয়া কে অল্প আলোতে রাখবেন না। জল একটু বুঝে দিবেন যেন মাটি শুকিয়ে না যায় ।

পিটুনিয়া ফুলের সার
সরিষার গুঁড়ো খোল ভিজিয়ে রাখতে হবে একটি পাত্রে ৭ দিন , ৮ দিন এর মাথায় ওই ভেজানো খোল এর মধ্যে অর্ধক চামচ DAP দিবেন তারপর ওর শটে ৫ লিটার জল আরো মিশিয়ে প্রতিটা টবে পরিমান অনুযায়ী দিয়ে দেবেন ( ১ / ২ কাপ ) প্রত্যেক ৩০ দিন অন্তর দিতে হবে। পিটুনিয়া ফুল গাছে খাবার দিবেন নভেম্বর থেকে মে মাস পযন্ত।

Mustard shell powder should be soaked in a container for 7 days, after 8 days add half a spoon of DAP to the soaked shell, then add 5 liters of water to it and give it according to the quantity in each tub (1/2 cup). পিটুনিয়া ছোট অবস্থা থেকে Pinching করতে হবে তাহলে ঝোপালো হবে এবং অনেক অনেক ফুল হবে।

পিটুনিয়া ফুলের রোগ ও পোকা
পিটুনিয়া ফুলের মাঝে মাঝে Nim oil spray করলে পিটুনিয়া অনেক ভালো থাকবে ও মাস এ একবার Dimethoate 30% Ec এই ধরণের যেকোনো কীটনাশক spray করলে গাছ ভালো থাকবে।

Petunia flowers will be better if neem oil is sprayed occasionally and Dimethoate 30% Ec once a month will be good.
